Peter Jackson, a 74-year-old experienced hiker, went missing on September 17, 2016, during a solo camping trip at Yosemite National Park. He was staying at White Wolf Campground, where he had paid for his campsite through September 21. On September 17, he sent a text message to his son, stating he was on his way to Yosemite, but he was not heard from again after that message.
