Hey everyone,
I've been following the discussion about Vinel Lamour's tragic incident and wanted to talk about something that's been on my mind. Vinel was just doing his job, making sure his community was safe, and it’s incredibly upsetting to think about the dangers security personnel face just by doing their everyday duties.
It’s also worth considering how tough this must be on his colleagues. I’ve read elsewhere that security guards often develop close bonds with each other, kind of like an extended family, given the nature of their work environment. Losing someone in such a senseless way must be tremendously difficult for them, too.
I hope there’s increased attention on ensuring the safety of people in these roles. They deserve more recognition and support. My thoughts are with Vinel’s family and anyone who knew him during such a painful time. It's a real reminder of how fragile life can be.
