I've been following Akeem Birch's case and something that's been gnawing at me is the lack of eyewitness cooperation, especially given how many people were reportedly at the scene. I can't help but wonder if fear is holding folks back from speaking up. I get that people might be terrified or worried about retaliation, but I keep thinking about Akeem's family and how desperate they must be for answers. Has the community discussed setting up anonymous ways to encourage people to come forward, maybe even beyond the usual Crime Stoppers? What are some ways we can support the family and press forward for justice, without putting more people in harm's way? Akeem was trying to turn his life around, and his loved ones deserve some peace. Any thoughts?
