I wanted to take a moment to express some thoughts about Darryl Roman Burt II, whose life was senselessly taken during the Pulse nightclub shooting. From everything I've read and heard, it seems like Darryl was an incredible person who really made a difference in his community. His work at Keiser University and his involvement with the Jacksonville Jaycees showed just how dedicated he was to helping others. What I find really touching is that he was celebrating his recent graduation when the tragedy struck. It's heartbreaking that a night meant for celebration turned into such a nightmare. It's a stark reminder of how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away. My heart goes out to his family and friends, who are undoubtedly still feeling the immense weight of his absence. I hope they continue to find strength in the love and memories they shared with him. These stories of who Darryl was in life are so important as we remember the victims and advocate for change. Let's not forget the vibrant, caring person he was, and keep pushing to ensure no community has to endure such loss again.
