I was reading about Shaun Scott's tragic death back in May 2015, and it really struck me how his case highlights the severe issues Baltimore was grappling with during that period. It's truly distressing to think about the number of lives lost and families forever changed due to the violence that swept through the city then. What really bothers me is the lack of progress in solving Shaun's case. It's like many of these incidents are just overshadowed by the sheer volume of crime happening. I remember the city was already on edge after the Freddie Gray incident, and it seems like everything just spiraled from there. My heart goes out to Shaun’s family; I can't even imagine the pain of not having closure or justice for a loved one. It makes me wonder what more could have been done at the time to prevent such tragedies. The community engagement and increased patrols were steps in the right direction, but what about addressing the root causes, like poverty and lack of opportunities? It’s a grim reminder of how important it is to tackle these big-picture issues if we’re ever going to see real change. Hoping for justice for Shaun and peace for his family and all those affected by that tumultuous time.
