Just came across some info about Elian Hughes' case that I hadn’t seen discussed yet. I read that right after the shooting, Mohyjah King supposedly rubbed pepper on his hands. Some witnesses said he claimed it was "for the dogs." I can’t help but wonder if this was an attempt to throw off any scent-tracking efforts by police dogs. It feels like such a drastic measure for a teenager to take—almost like something out of a movie. The level of premeditation and fear involved in this action is just chilling. I can't imagine the kind of panic that led to these decisions. It really makes me think about what drove these young lives into such a tragic confrontation. As always, my thoughts are with Elian's loved ones. #[JusticeForElian](https://)

Being part of this community, I find it incredibly important to point out how sometimes it’s the small details that can tell you so much about a case. I’ve been thinking a lot about the behavior of Mohyjah King after the tragedy with Elian Hughes. The whole thing about him supposedly rubbing pepper on his hands to throw off the dogs is just bizarre. Of course, it’s common for people to try and cover their tracks, but this seems like an act of someone desperately trying anything he could think of, almost like a misguided attempt at some amateur sleuthing. I wonder if this was something he did impulsively or if it was a ‘trick’ he picked up somewhere. Makes you really consider the kind of influences young people might have, and how they might not always understand the things they do can be part of their undoing. It's haunting to think of the impact such elements of youth culture might have when mixed with violence. Collectively, as a society, we need to have difficult conversations about why kids feel driven to violence and how we can help steer them towards better paths. Keeping Elian’s family and friends in my thoughts. It’s hard to imagine how they cope with this void, knowing someone’s reckless actions led to such a tragedy.
