I've been following the case of Jose Luis Reyes Jr., and something that really stands out to me is the ripple effect incidents like this have on the community. While we all know about the devastating impact on Jose's family and friends—my heart goes out to them—it's also really concerning to think about the long-term implications for those who lived on Pelican Drive NE where the shooting and crash happened. Can you imagine witnessing something so traumatic right outside your home? It's the sort of event that shakes a neighborhood to its core. I really hope there are resources available for those residents to cope with what they experienced, and that as a community, Palm Bay can come together to support one another through this dark time. Gun violence is something nobody should have to witness, especially not in their own neighborhood.
