I’ve been thinking a lot about the people in Duane Gerald Lanter’s life who are left to pick up the pieces after this awful tragedy. It must be incredibly tough for his family and friends to cope with the sudden loss and the circumstances surrounding it. I can only imagine the shock and pain they’ve been through since that December night in 2018. While reading about the case, I couldn't help but feel really upset knowing how quickly things spiraled out of control due to those involved and the choices they made. It’s a disturbing reminder of the ripple effects these crimes have—not only on the victim but also on the community and loved ones left behind. I hope that Lanter’s family finds some sense of peace and healing through the justice system's pursuit of accountability for those responsible. Does anyone know if there have been any community efforts or memorials organized to honor Duane’s memory? It seems like coming together as a community is incredibly important in times like these to support one another and try to move forward, even as we keep seeking justice.
