I’ve been following the Gail and Ronald Still case, and something that’s been on my mind is how we, as a community, can better support families experiencing domestic violence. It’s so saddening to think about what Gail might have been going through. It feels like we often hear about these tragedies and then just move on, but what can we do differently this time? How can we identify the signs earlier and offer support to prevent such a devastating outcome? Also, does anyone have insight into local resources in Ormond-by-the-Sea or Volusia County that are actively working to address domestic violence? I’d love to hear if there are anything community-driven efforts we can contribute to or spread awareness about. My heart goes out to their children and loved ones — I can't imagine the pain they're enduring right now. Such discussions can be hard, but they’re crucial if we want to see change. Would love to hear thoughts on this.
