Has anyone else been following Tavon Allen's case from 2015? It's pushing eight years now, and I can't get over how such a tragedy unfolded in a year that was incredibly rough for Baltimore. I was reading about how the city's rise in homicides left law enforcement in a bind, and it saddens me knowing how a community so deeply affected could be paralyzed with fear or distrust.
I can't imagine the pain Tavon's loved ones must feel, waiting all this time for answers. It must be incredibly difficult to carry on without justice or closure. With the lack of witness cooperation that year, like in Tavon's case, it’s frustrating to think about the potential information lost to silence.
Do you guys think community relations with law enforcement could improve over time, or does it feel like an uphill battle from here? Would love to hear what you all think about the possibilities of reopening dialogue and breaking this cycle of silence for future cases.
