I was reading about the tragic incident involving David Owsianiak and couldn’t help but think about their long marriage. Over three decades together is no small feat, and I imagine they shared countless memories, from raising a family to supporting each other through good times and bad. It's so hard to understand how things led to such a heartbreaking moment. Having been a retired firefighter and serving in such pivotal events like 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, David seemed like someone who had seen and faced more than most of us ever will. My heart goes out to their family who must be trying to make sense of not only the loss but the sudden and violent way it happened. I hope they have a support system to help them through this unimaginable time.
