I’ve been thinking about the tragic loss of Jordan Siddiq at Shooters Waterfront and how deeply it affected the whole community. It's so sad to see a bright light extinguished in such a senseless manner. I found myself reflecting on how important it is for workplaces to take action when tensions arise among employees, even after someone has left the job. It sounded like Candelaria had a lot of unresolved issues, but still, nothing justifies what he did. If only there were more preventive measures in place, maybe warning signs wouldn’t be overlooked. I feel deeply for Siddiq’s family and friends — it must be incredibly difficult to process such a sudden and violent loss. It’s touching to hear that so many people came forward to pay their respects and share stories about the joy he brought into their lives. It's beautiful how the community came together, but I just wish it didn't have to be for something so tragic. Hoping they find solace and justice in the midst of this nightmare.
