Has anyone else been thinking about how the Ohta case highlights some of the challenges with the mental health system back in the day? ? It’s so tragic to think about how Virginia, her family, and Dorothy were caught up in something so horrific. Frazier had a history of mental illness, but it seems like he slipped through the cracks until it was too late. I can’t help but wonder if there were missed opportunities for intervention that might have prevented this tragedy. My heart goes out to their loved ones who had to endure such a senseless loss. These kinds of cases make you think about how we care for those struggling with mental health issues and what might be done differently today to prevent such violence. ?
