I've been thinking about the implications of how Robert John Bardo managed to get Rebecca Schaeffer's address. It's chilling to realize that it was so easy for someone to invade her privacy in such a way. This wasn't just about Bardo's obsession, but also about the systems that failed to protect her. It seems so preventable in hindsight, you know? It’s no wonder her case led to such massive changes in privacy laws. I can't help but feel for her family and friends; they must have felt so helpless knowing how easily her information was accessed by someone with such harmful intentions. It's tragic that it took something so devastating for reforms like the Driver's Privacy Protection Act to come into play. Her legacy is definitely a strong reminder of the importance of keeping personal information secure to prevent similar tragedies from happening in the future.
