Hi everyone, I’ve been reading through the details of Nicholas Markowitz's case, and something that keeps bothering me is how both teenagers and adults who saw him at parties chose to stay silent. I can't imagine what was going through their minds seeing Nicholas, knowing he wasn't just part of the party crowd, yet saying nothing. Fear of getting involved, maybe, or thinking it wasn’t their business? It’s just tragic that nobody thought to alert someone. My heart goes out to the family knowing so many had the chance to help their son and didn’t. It’s a reminder of how speaking up, even when it feels uncomfortable, can be so crucial. Would love to hear your thoughts on why this happens and how we can do better as a society.
