Hey everyone, I've been diving into this baffling Simon Owen case from '94, and something keeps catching my attention. Does anyone remember if any of Simon's hiking equipment was ever recovered? I've seen cases where items left behind tell a story or at least hint at the path someone might have taken. It's surprising that nothing, not even a backpack, has surfaced in all the search efforts. This seems unusual given how often belongings are found even when people aren’t. Maybe he left the trail and took an unmarked path? I know locals sometimes talk about those hidden paths more challenging to navigate. Just putting this out there in case it sparks any new thoughts or leads.
I came across an interesting angle while reading about Simon Owen's case. Apparently, after he disappeared, some locals mentioned there are several unofficial paths off the main Manoa Falls Trail. These paths are often used by experienced hikers who know the area well. I wonder if Simon could have taken one of these paths seeking a new adventure? If he did, considering how dense the terrain is and the potential for hidden dangers like steep drops or unstable ground, it could explain why the searches didn't turn up anything. It’s such a rough area to search in depth without knowing exactly where someone might have gone off-trail. Has anyone else heard about other hikers getting lost on those side paths before?
Hi everyone,
I was reading through some news articles about Simon Owen's case again and couldn’t help but focus on something that keeps me puzzled - his bicycle. It was just left there at the base of the Manoa Falls Trail, which makes sense because he loved to hike, but I keep wondering if there were any clues in how it was left. Was it parked neatly, or did it look like he left in a hurry? Did anyone ever check for fingerprints or anything on the bike, just in case? I guess it's just odd to me because, in a world where people notice small details, this seems like something that could add a little piece to the puzzle. Does anyone know if the investigators released any info on that aspect? Feeling for everyone who still wonders about Simon.
