I've been following the discussions on the Goleta postal shooting, and I can't stop thinking about the safety measures, or lack thereof, within the USPS at the time. It's unsettling that someone with a known history of erratic behavior like Jennifer San Marco was able to enter the facility. It seems like there were clear signals that should have prompted a review of security protocols. I wonder if anything was changed after that horrific day to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. Maleka Higgins and her coworkers deserved a safe space to work, free from fear and violence. My thoughts are with her family and everyone impacted by this tragedy. It's so important we continue to advocate for stronger workplace safety and mental health support to honor their memory.
