Wow, I can’t imagine the pain Alfred Henderson’s family went through all those years waiting for answers. It’s so unnerving to think about how this all unfolded right in front of a relative’s house, a place that should feel safe. I’ve been thinking about the courage of Henderson’s companion too; surviving such a traumatic attack must have been incredibly challenging, especially knowing a friend lost their life. I hope the arrest of Darnell Clarke brought some peace to those who loved Alfred. It also makes me think about how gang-related violence impacts so many lives and neighborhoods in Long Beach. It's tragic that it takes something as devastating as this to highlight the ongoing struggle against such violence. Keeping Alfred’s family and his companion in my thoughts, truly.
