I've been thinking a lot about the terrible event in Inglewood involving young Giovanni Lamas and his family. One thing that really struck me, besides the heroism and tragedy, was the fact that the perpetrator, Desmond John Moses, was actually a licensed security guard. It's so chilling to think that someone in his role, who you'd expect to protect people, could commit such a horrific act. It makes me wonder about the vetting process for security guards and whether there might have been signs of instability that went unnoticed. How did Moses, who should've been a figure of safety, become so consumed by rage over something like an eviction notice? My heart goes out to Gloria and her children, not only for their physical recovery but also for the emotional turmoil they must be enduring. No family should have to face such senseless violence.
