I've been thinking a lot about the role of the adults at that house party. It's so troubling to see how people who should have been responsible ended up contributing to such a devastating situation. Carlos Calzado and Christa McGrath were supposed to be the "adults" in the room, but instead, they were mixing with underage kids, providing alcohol, and not keeping things under control. It's incomprehensible to me how they could overlook the risks involved. How many more young lives need to be affected before people recognize the dangers of these environments? My heart truly goes out to Hunter's family. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing such a bright young life. In times like these, it's more vital than ever for communities to rally and advocate for stricter laws and real consequences for those enabling these unsafe gatherings. Let's hope, moving forward, this serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of vigilance and accountability, especially when it comes to protecting our youth.
