I was looking over some updates about Perla Avina's case and couldn't help but think about how terrifying and unexpected this must have been for her husband, Luis. Just imagine being in that car and witnessing such a horrifying event—you’re out for what seems like a normal day, and then everything turns into a nightmare. It's hard to fathom the strength it must take to go on after such trauma. My heart truly goes out to him and their kids as they try to navigate life without her. I hope that as the trial proceeds, they find some semblance of peace knowing the person responsible is held accountable. It's cases like these that remind me how important it is for communities to rally around families in grief. If anyone has more recent updates on the trial or how the family is doing, please share. Keeping them in my thoughts.
Just read about the tragic case of Perla Avina, and my heart goes out to her family, especially her four children. I can’t imagine the fear they must feel knowing their mom was taken away in such a senseless act. The part that really hit me was how her husband, Luis, had to go through that horrific experience and still tried everything he could to save her. It's truly unimaginable.

I’ve been keeping up with the case updates, and while it’s a relief to hear that Carl Stephen Dubose was apprehended, I hope the justice system holds him fully accountable for this devastating crime.
