Thomas Chambers was a 49-year-old Black man from Baltimore who died on August 10, 2017, from a gunshot wound he had suffered in 1990. The Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide on October 25, 2017, effectively reclassifying a decades-old injury as the cause of his 2017 death.
The original shooting happened before widespread surveillance, and investigators say there were no cameras or other key visual evidence at the time. That lack of evidence left the case cold for years; despite the Medical Examiner’s ruling and renewed attention after it, no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced.
Anyone who knew Thomas, remembers the 1990 shooting, or has information that could help fill gaps in this long-unsolved homicide is asked to come forward.
