I was reading about Rigoberto Santamaria's case and my heart really goes out to his family. I can't imagine what they're going through, especially knowing how entrenched gang violence is in the area. One thing that caught my attention was the timing of the shots—5:52 p.m. That's right around when people are coming home from work, and the thought of something like that happening in broad daylight is just chilling. It hits home how brazen and dangerous some of these gang members can be, putting innocent people at risk. It's promising to hear about the steps law enforcement is taking with operations like Red Sol, but I worry about the lasting effects on the neighborhood. How do you all think communities can better protect themselves and heal after such violence? Has anyone seen effective programs in other areas that focus on both prevention and recovery?
