I keep thinking about how Deshawn Childs’ case highlights some serious issues with community safety and cooperation—or the lack thereof. It’s so frustrating that despite the argument happening in a somewhat public area, with witnesses around, the shooter managed to get away in a gray car, and no one has come forward with enough information to nail this person. ? I get that people might be scared to talk, especially if they fear retaliation, but someone out there knows something. The fact that no arrests have been made just adds to the pain his family and friends must be feeling. I hope this serves as a wake-up call for the community to find ways to support each other and work together with law enforcement. We all need to do better for Deshawn's sake and for everyone who loved him.
