As someone who went to a neighboring high school, I remember hearing about his dedication to his summer job and how well-liked he was among his peers. It makes me wonder if this tragic event could have been prevented with more community engagement or resources for young people in the area.
Given that law enforcement is still looking for leads, it’s imperative that we keep this conversation alive beyond the initial wave of media coverage and community vigils. If there's even a small chance that someone out there saw something or knows anything about that car or those involved, coming forward could make all the difference.
