I’ve been following the cold case of Joseph Diggs, and the lack of answers after all these years is just painfully frustrating. It’s the kind of story that sticks with you—a beloved 71-year-old, a family man known as "Mike" who meant the world to those around him. The thought of his life being cut short over an attempted carjacking is just so senseless.
What really strikes me is the role we play as a community in cases like this. The police have their hands full with hundreds of unsolved crimes, and it's easy for them to get overwhelmed. New leads can sometimes come from the smallest details shared by someone who was in the area or who may have heard something over the years. If you lived in New Orleans around 2010 or know folks who did, wouldn’t it be amazing if someone had a missing piece to the puzzle? Maybe even some chatter that seemed insignificant back then?
I really hope that advancements in forensic technology will eventually help bring justice for Mike and his family. Until then, I think keeping such stories alive and encouraging conversation can be incredibly powerful. Justice is long overdue for Mike, and the people of New Orleans deserve a safer community. I can't stop thinking about how community involvement could really be the key to solving Joseph "Mike" Diggs' case.
