I've been following the Lars Stiaes case for a while now, and I'm really moved by the kind of person he was. Despite the danger he faced, Lars showed incredible bravery trying to help others during the robbery. It's such a huge loss, and it really highlights the need for every community member to come forward if they know anything. I can't help but think about his family and friends and how hard this must be for them every single day. The fact that over 160 cases like Lars's remain unsolved in New Orleans is deeply concerning. It feels like these aren't just numbers but real people waiting for answers. I hope the advancements in forensic technologies can eventually turn these cold cases warm, and we finally see some justice for Lars and others like him. What do you all think it will take for more progress in these kinds of cases?
Hey everyone,
I've been following Lars Stiaes' case since it happened, and I can't help but feel for his family and friends. It's incredibly frustrating to see such a brave young man, who survived Afghanistan only to lose his life while trying to protect others back home. It makes me think about the mentality he must have had, always looking out for those around him, even in civilian life.
I've been researching a bit and found that the rise in unsolved cases in New Orleans is often linked to issues with witness cooperation. I can’t imagine how difficult it is for those who might know something to speak up, but for Lars and so many like him, we need people to come forward. I hope that with support from the community and advances in forensic technology, we will start to see breakthroughs not just in Lars's case but in many unsolved cases.
Wishing strength to Lars’s family and hoping for justice to be served soon.
