Has anyone else been thinking about the location of Sergio Mares's murder? It seems like the spot at the Valley Plaza Recreation Center parking lot was not a place you'd expect such a shocking event to occur. It’s surrounded by trees and seems pretty isolated, which makes me wonder if the shooters knew this and planned it as part of their getaway. I used to go to that rec center for exercise classes, and the fact that no one heard anything from inside is terrifying. I can't imagine how scary it must be for those who were there that day and didn't even realize something so tragic was unfolding outside. Does anyone think there might have been more to why it happened there, or was it just an opportunistic attack due to the isolation of the spot? My heart goes out to Sergio's family and friends. The community deserves answers, and I hope the LAPD can piece together the clues soon.
I’ve been following Sergio Mares' case and just needed a place to express my thoughts. It's incredibly frustrating that no one from the exercise class heard or saw anything. It must be agony for Sergio’s loved ones to know the crime scene was only a short distance from potential witnesses. I keep thinking about how important community involvement is in cases like this. Someone out there must have seen something, even a small detail that might assist the investigation. It feels almost haunting how this happened in such a public space, yet remains unsolved.
