I do hope they go after the death penalty. This was clearly pre meditated murder of 3 people.

Hi everyone,
I've been following the case of Gino Houchins and the other victims from the January 2019 West Oakland incident, and something has been on my mind. The location where it happened, right by the West Oakland BART Station, is such a busy area with people coming and going constantly. It's hard to comprehend how something so awful could occur in such a public space, and yet no one stepped forward with helpful information initially. It's been over four years, and I can't shake the thought of the families waiting for answers.
I remember reading that police were offering rewards for information. I wonder if this is why eventually someone spoke up or if more evidence came to light when they apprehended Durant. Thinking about those families and the constant reminder every time they pass by that area must be incredibly painful. Hopefully, continued community efforts and police diligence will bring them some peace.
Sending thoughts to everyone affected.
Hello everyone,
I've been reflecting on how the tragic loss of Gino Houchins and the others has undoubtedly cast a shadow over the West Oakland community. It can be overwhelming to think about how such a deliberate and senseless act of violence can occur so suddenly, taking three lives and forever impacting their families. It's clear that the families of Gino, Marcus Fuller Jr., and Dante Johnson are going through an unimaginable time right now, and my thoughts are with them.
In these discussions, we often talk about the investigation and the suspects involved, but I think it's important to also consider the emotional aftermath experienced by the victims' families. I can’t help but wonder how they cope daily, knowing their loved ones' lives were taken so abruptly. Has anyone heard if there are any community support groups or initiatives set up to help the families and the wider Vallejo and Oakland communities in processing this tragedy? It seems like a crucial step in not only supporting the families but also in healing and bringing people together to stand against such violence.
If anyone from the area has more insight or knows of any support efforts, I’d love to hear about them. It might be small, but community support can be powerful in times like these. Let's keep hope that justice for Gino, Marcus, and Dante can further bring some measure of peace to their loved ones.
Stay safe, everyone.
