Seeing how much respect and admiration Don Campbell commanded within the department makes this situation even more difficult to comprehend. He clearly had an impressive career, with accolades that not everyone in law enforcement achieves. It's so tragic that despite this illustrious career, he still faced demons that led to his untimely passing. I recently read about the Richard Rose Career Achievement Award he received—it's quite a prestigious honor. It just goes to show that even those who seem to have it all together can be fighting battles we know nothing about. I hope his story will continue to raise awareness about mental health and how crucial support systems can be, particularly for those in high-pressure jobs like his. Keeping his family in my thoughts.
