In reading about the Montes brothers' case, I've found myself reflecting a lot on the impact that their deaths must have on their families, especially their children. It's devastating to think about these young ones growing up without their fathers. I can only imagine the heartbreak and confusion their loved ones must be experiencing as they try to navigate life without Justin and Jason. It’s shocking that the perpetrator has not been caught, given the public nature of the crime. It makes me wonder about the effectiveness of current community-police collaboration in San Pedro. I've heard that sometimes people in the community might be scared to come forward with information or might not trust the police, which can really stall an investigation like this. I hope that someone, eventually, has the courage to speak up if they know something — even the smallest detail might help solve this case and bring some peace to the families. Sending thoughts to everyone affected.
