I’ve been following the Rafael Baez case and wanted to discuss the impact that this tragedy has had on the local community in Boyle Heights. It's really weighing heavy on the neighborhood. A community gathering was held last week, bringing together residents who are tired of the violence erupting so close to their homes. During the gathering, people shared stories about Rafael, describing him as someone who brought light to those around him. It's clear that this loss is deeply felt. What's particularly moving is seeing how the community seems to be rallying, trying to support one another and find ways to address the underlying issues of gang violence. This event has spurred some local groups to push harder for intervention programs and support networks for young people in the area, which is a positive step. But it’s a long road ahead, and every bit of help and information counts. If anyone has any details, even the smallest piece of information could make a difference. Let’s continue to keep Rafael’s memory alive by reaching out and doing what we can to support efforts towards peace and justice. Sending my thoughts to his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
