Did anyone else catch the interviews with Alex Ward Fritch's family? My heart goes out to them as they navigate through this unimaginable loss. Alex was, from what I've read, a dedicated substation maintainer and seemed like such a loving figure in his family. It just makes me think about how difficult it must be for his wife, Terra, and their children to cope with his sudden absence. I've read about the workplace issues and red flags with Cassidy, but it’s hard to fathom how it escalated to such a tragic outcome. It really puts a spotlight on how much we need better mental health resources and proactive measures in workplaces. I can't imagine the pain this community must be feeling right now. Keeping hope that there will be progress in preventing future incidents like this. What do you all think about the steps organizations should take to protect and support their employees?

I can't stop thinking about the role mental health assessments play in workplace environments, especially after the VTA tragedy. It baffles me that someone like Samuel Cassidy, who had such clear indicators of volatility, was able to slip through the cracks. I've read elsewhere that coworkers noticed these signs but either didn't report them or their concerns weren't taken seriously. This isn't just about assigning blame, but rather understanding that these warning signs need attention BEFORE things escalate. It's devastating that Alex Ward Fritch, who by all accounts seemed to be such a stable presence for his family, had to pay the price. His wife and kids are enduring pain that might have been prevented with more proactive measures. Perhaps it's time for more stringent mental health evaluations and mandatory reporting systems in workplaces. It’s sobering to think about how many lives might be saved if systemic change takes place in response to these tragedies. What systems do other workplaces have in place to catch these red flags early?
