Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about Miguel Núñez Peñaloza and how he was supposed to finish working at Rite Aid soon. It’s incredibly upsetting that he was just days away from moving on to the next chapter in his life when he was taken from us. He was trying to do the right thing, looking out for his workplace and his coworkers. The safety issues at that store really worry me. Why wasn’t there better security in place, especially if threats and incidents had happened before? It makes me so sad and angry to think about how vulnerable retail workers are, just trying to do their jobs. Miguel deserved to feel safe at work, and it breaks my heart to know he wasn’t. I can’t imagine what his family and friends are going through. This situation really highlights the importance of pushing for better protections and support for all retail workers. I hope the companies start taking their safety more seriously. Sending all my thoughts and prayers to Miguel’s loved ones. Rest in peace, Miguel. Your bravery won’t be forgotten.
