I recently came across Dylan Brock's case and something's been gnawing at me. Does anyone else find it odd that all his personal belongings were left behind in the tent but there's no sign of him? It's like he just vanished into thin air. I know the Appalachian Trail can be treacherous, but Dylan seemed to be an experienced hiker. Plus, leaving behind essentials like his boots and coat in February weather seems strange. Could he have planned on coming back to the tent but got disoriented or met someone along the way? I’ve read that hikers sometimes encounter sketchy individuals on trails. Has anyone heard any other theories or noticed similar cases where someone's just gone without a trace like this?

Hey everyone, I've been following the Dylan Brock case, and something that's been puzzling me is why his tent and personal items were left so intentionally at Gap Rock. It just seems odd that he would leave behind things that are crucial for a hike or staying out in the wilderness. His heavy wool coat, especially—why not take that if he intended to go somewhere, right? It's almost like he planned to come back, but then something prevented him from doing so. But what could have happened in such a relatively short span between setting up his camp and his disappearance? I'm also curious about what his journal contained. Did it have any entries from his trip, or was it filled out prior to his disappearance? It feels like there could be some important clues in there if only we knew what was on those pages. Do we know if his family or law enforcement have released any of that information? Hoping someone has more insights or can share thoughts on this mysterious aspect of his disappearance. Stay safe and keep sharing info, HikerGal101
