I've been thinking a lot about Charles Mongitore's murder, and it's just haunting how people could be so cold. The part that gets me, aside from the sheer brutality, is the extent of Charles' trust being shattered. It seems like he was caught in the web of something much bigger than himself, all because he stood up for what was right by not dropping those assault charges. Imagine the fear and betrayal he must've felt realizing the lengths the DeMeo crew would go to silence him. I can't even begin to understand the pain his family went through losing him like that. Thankful for the relentless work of law enforcement back then, it was a different time, but they worked hard to bring those responsible to justice. Thoughts and prayers to all who knew Charles.
