Edward Bernard Bailey, a 53-year-old father from Overtown, Miami, was fatally shot on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at a Sunflex gas station in West Little River, Florida. The incident occurred at approximately 12:35 p.m. when Bailey was parked on the west side of the gas station in his green 2005 Ford Interceptor, which had stickers that appeared to be bullet holes but were not actual bullet damage.
According to surveillance video, two men in a gray Volkswagen Tiguan arrived at the gas station. One of the men shot Bailey once, leaving a single .40 caliber bullet casing behind before fleeing the scene. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel pronounced Bailey dead at the gas station.
The Miami-Dade Police Department is investigating the homicide and has distributed a “Seeking Homicide Information” flyer. They are urging anyone with information about the case to contact Detective H. Garcia or Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers.
As of the current date, there have been no reported arrests or identifications of suspects in connection with Bailey's murder. The police continue to seek public assistance in gathering more information to solve the case.
