I've been thinking a lot about the survivors from the ACA tragedy in Binghamton, especially those who were inside during the shooting. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma and sheer terror they must have experienced. It's one thing to read about it, but to actually be there... just unfathomable.
Does anyone know if there are any resources or support groups for these individuals? I really hope they're getting the help they need. The ripple effects of that day must be so profound for everyone involved.
Also, trying to piece together how everyone got out safely—was there a particular individual who stepped up during the chaos, or was it just a matter of trying to stay calm and hidden? Such incredible courage must have been shown by so many that day. My thoughts are with every survivor and the families affected.
Does anyone know more about Maria Sonia Ju-Louis Bernard's involvement with the ACA? I’ve heard she was a dedicated member, but there's not much detail out there about her role at the association. It's just so upsetting, thinking about how she and the others were just going about their day when this monstrous act shattered everything. I can't stop thinking about her and the impact she must have had on the people around her. I’ve read she was compassionate and vital in helping other immigrants, which makes this tragedy all the more devastating. If anyone has more stories or memories about her contributions, please share. I think it’s important to remember the good she did and the light she brought into the lives of many. Sending thoughts to her friends and family during this difficult time.
