One thing that always intrigues me in cases like Thomas DeMarco's is the psychology behind it all. It’s so difficult for those left behind to piece together the motivations when someone decides to take such drastic final steps. Reading that he sent a suicide note to someone else just opens up a world of questions. Who was this person to DeMarco? Did they know something before his sudden and tragic decision? The choice to set the fire, especially when you know the end you’ve chosen...it just adds another layer to the sadness of this situation. I really feel for those left in the aftermath, trying to comprehend the incomprehensible. It's a harsh reminder that we never fully know what someone else is battling internally. I just hope that everyone involved finds some peace and healing over time.
