I’ve been thinking a lot about the witnesses at the cookout where Donnell Nashaun Smith was killed. It’s so upsetting to hear that despite so many people being present, there’s been little progress in the investigation. It must be incredibly frustrating for Donnell's family, knowing there are folks who might hold answers but are staying silent. I can't imagine how hard it would be to carry on without knowing what happened to your loved one, especially with a young daughter left behind. What can be done to help break this "no snitching" mentality? I get that people are scared, but how do we balance that fear with the need for justice? It's like a dreadful cycle that keeps going and it's so unfair to Donnell’s family. Has anyone heard if there are any community initiatives aimed at building trust between the residents and law enforcement?
