I've been thinking a lot about the decision to convict Brian White in Robert DeJesus's case. While it's a relief to see justice served, it's heartbreaking to consider the irreversible actions that led to the tragedy. Robert's family and friends must live on without him, and I can't imagine the depth of their pain. But the question that keeps haunting me is about the system and the cycle of violence—did the need for revenge truly outweigh any chance for reconciliation or healing? This case is such a stark reminder that old wounds left untreated can fester and spiral into unimaginable outcomes. On top of all this, the fact that Robert was gunned down just after a baby shower—an event that's supposed to be so joyous—adds another layer of sadness. Sending strength to everyone affected by this senseless act of violence.
