I’ve been following the tragic case of Anthony Holloway’s murder and something has been on my mind. It’s deeply concerning to think about the environment surrounding the Webster Houses and how such a violent act could happen there. While nobody deserves what happened to Anthony, it seems like crime in these housing projects just feels too common, and it raises the question of how much more needs to be done to improve safety in these communities. From past crimes in the area to the current thinking around Holloway’s past, there seems to be this vicious cycle of violence that rarely sees resolution. Although his background was complicated, Anthony’s life—and his loss—still matters, and it’s crucial for all of us, especially in these communities, to rally and provide any information that could help law enforcement. Any little bit might be the key to stopping such violence from continuing. Hoping for peace for Anthony’s loved ones and justice soon. Any thoughts on how the community can step up or what needs to happen next for this to change?
