It's been several years since Jarvis Porter's tragic murder, and I still can't help but feel for his family and friends, especially during the holidays. It's hard to believe this happened on Christmas Day, a time that's supposed to be full of love and togetherness. Something that's been on my mind is the community response at the time. It seemed like everyone wanted justice for Jarvis and peace for the neighborhood. It's tough seeing an area struggle with violence, knowing the fear and grief it brings to a community. Has anyone heard if there were any lasting changes in the Genesee Street area since then, like improved safety measures or community programs? We often focus on the perpetrators and the sentences they receive, but I'm curious about any positive steps taken to prevent such senseless acts from happening again. Hoping for healing and safety for the residents there.
