On December 8, 2016, Cory Lanteigne was reported missing by family members after having gone out for a short walk, and never returning. He was not dressed for the weather conditions at the time and was experiencing a mental health crisis. An extensive ground search was conducted by police in the area where he was last seen but failed to locate him.
