Something that has really been on my mind about the Bernardo Bernard case is the impact this crime has had on his neighborhood in Brooklyn. It's so unsettling to think about how his vibrant community, where people went about their daily lives without much fear, was shattered by such a violent act. I've read that neighbors have since banded together to support each other and the Bernard family, trying to process what happened and make sense of the tragedy. It’s uplifting to see community solidarity in the face of grief, but it also highlights how this violence impacts not just the immediate family but everyone around them. It's a sobering reminder of the importance of community safety and the bonds we share with our neighbors. How do we even begin to heal after something like this? My thoughts are with all those who knew and loved Bernardo.
