I've been following the tragic case of Angel Barreiro and the more I learn, the more I'm struck by the ripple effects of gang violence on communities. It's just so devastating to think about a young life lost to senseless violence. While Andrew Done, aka "Caballo," has been sentenced, I can't help but feel for Angel's family who must be trying to cope with such a profound loss. I wonder what kind of person Angel was and what dreams and aspirations he had. It makes me think about all the other families out there dealing with similar situations. Also, big kudos to the United States Marshals Service for their relentless efforts to bring Done to justice. This case is a stark reminder of what happens when rivalries escalate and how important it is to support initiatives aimed at preventing young people from getting embroiled in gang life. Really hoping for healing for all those affected.
