I recently came across the tragic story of Ricardo Hollins, aka "Double Crossa," and I can't help but think about the impact he had on the New Orleans music scene. His affiliation with Soulja Slim's label, Cut Throat Comitty Records, says a lot about his talent and the respect he earned within the community. It's deeply frustrating to see yet another gifted musician's life ended by gun violence—a recurring issue in that area. It's tough to watch the cycle of talent being overshadowed by violence. His presence in the music world was significant, and his contribution to hip-hop in New Orleans shouldn't be overlooked. I'm hoping the community he left behind can find some solace and perhaps even some strength in remembering how he lived and what he was passionate about. It's also a stark reminder of the bigger picture—how gun violence continues to claim lives and disrupt families. For the sake of everyone in similar situations, I hope the city can find more effective ways to tackle this devastating issue. Thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
