Has anyone else been following the case of John Salgado? I’ve been thinking a lot about the role parole might’ve played here. From what I gather, John had been out on parole since late 2019 after serving time for a gun-related charge. It’s deeply unsettling to imagine that someone who was trying to reintegrate into society could meet such a tragic end. It makes me wonder about the kind of support or community resources available for individuals released on parole in that area. Was John given a fair chance to rebuild his life? Systemic issues, like lack of support, can sometimes contribute to precarious situations. While Nelson Rivera’s arrest might give a sense of justice to some, it's essential to look at the broader picture too. My heart really goes out to John’s friends and family. I can't even begin to fathom what they’re going through. Hoping they find some peace and that the community can rally together to prevent such tragedies in the future.
