I've been thinking a lot about the impact this tragic event has had on the Jamaica neighborhood, especially during the holiday season when this should have been a time of joy and togetherness. Elgin Reynolds’ murder in such a public place, surrounded by so many people, really shakes you to your core. How do we feel safe in our communities when something like this can happen in the middle of the day? I keep wondering about the people who might have been on 165th Street that day. It must have been terrifying to witness or even hear about later. I'm also curious about the surveillance footage—considering how clear the images were, I hope someone recognizes the suspect and comes forward. This must be incredibly difficult for Elgin's family and friends right now, and my heart goes out to them. It's painful to think that the suspect is still out there, and I really hope they get the closure they deserve soon. Is anyone familiar with the area or heard any updates on efforts by the NYPD? It's unsettling to think the suspect could just disappear like that.
