Audie James Lucas, 28, was shot and left paralyzed from the neck down during an attempted robbery in Landover-Hills, Maryland, on December 27, 1993. He survived for years with those catastrophic injuries, and on August 11, 2008, at age 45, he died. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, finding it was caused by the lasting effects of the 1993 gunshot wound.
Prince George’s County police reopened the case after the ruling. In December 2009 authorities arrested 35-year-old Amer Shoayb of Hyattsville and charged him with first-degree murder in connection with the 1993 shooting. The arrest represented a major development in a case that had been cold for more than a decade.
Does anyone have information about Lucas’s life in Landover-Hills or the night of December 27, 1993 that could help fill gaps in the timeline?
